About us

Michele Ruiz
I've always felt a deep calling to help others. I was born and raised on the beautiful island of Puerto Rico, which has given me the valuable ability to communicate in both English and Spanish. There, I completed my studies in Environmental Sciences at the Interamerican University of Puerto Rico. For years, I worked in environmental stewardship, first in a pharmaceutical company in my hometown and then in the Department of Natural Resources in Georgia, where I worked as a chemist for a decade.
However, I felt called to explore new horizons and launched myself into the enriching world of mental health. I earned my master's degree from Liberty University, which allowed me to combine my passion for counseling with a focus on spirituality. I immediately began practicing as a counselor, and although I initially focused on adults, children won my heart. This led me to work with the Latino community in Gwinnett County Public Schools, standing out as a leader in the development and expansion of the APEX program.
After years of learning and professional growth in Georgia Highlands and other settings, I decided to pursue my dream of owning my own office. Today, with over 12 years of experience in the mental health field, I am certified in play therapy and continue to expand my knowledge to offer effective tools to those seeking support.
At Ideas2play Counseling, my goal is to provide a safe and nurturing space to help you on your journey to wellness.
Thank you for trusting me!
